July 2014 Update - PHS Swim and Dive

Hello!

I’m sending out an email to remind everyone that dryland is being offered starting tomorrow afternoon! Jenny will be running these workouts in the weight room of the E building at Pinnacle. When facing the school from the student parking lot, the E building is to the left (go through the doors on the parking lot side).  The following are the dates for dryland:
7/14-7/17: M-Th 4-5 pm
7/21-7/23: M-W 4-5 pm
7/28-7/31: M-Th 4-5 pm
Please make sure athletes are picked up AT 5:00! Jenny is really excited to work with you!

During the parent meeting in August, I will review many of the details for the season, including expectations, fees, parent volunteers, and important dates. I will be asking each family to donate a case of water and a package or two of HEALTHY snacks (things like nature valley bars, fruit snacks, pretzels, nutria-grain bars, crackers, trail mix, etc.). If you can, Costco snacks are great for quantity and price! These snacks and the water will be provided to the team before every meet throughout the season.  The athletes are always very appreciative to have them! Also, If you would like to pay the team booster fees at the parent meeting, I would recommend bringing your checkbook.

On that note…there will be two separate fees to be a part of swimming and diving:
1) AIA  fee of $200, this can be paid online  through the webstore AFTER I turn in the official roster during the 2nd week of school. Or a check can be made out to AIA and turned in directly to Pinnacle in the finance office.
2) Booster fee of $140, this will be made out to PHS swim and dive and will be given to Todd LaPorte at the parent meeting or Kelly LaPorte in the College and Career center at Pinnacle. Things that are included in this fee for swimmers and divers are team suits, caps, t-shirt, meet entry fees, and banquet fee.
*Athletes must have their own practice suits, caps, and goggles. Equipment will be provided but I would highly recommend investing in fins and a kickboard, we will be using them quite a bit. They can be found at most sporting good stores.
**Tax Credit…Parents, this is separate from AIA and booster fees but any monies donated for full tax credit go straight to the team.  It’s a great fundraiser! $200 for single parent or up to $400 for married.

Make sure you are working on your athletic packet! You cannot swim until all of it (including the brain quiz for freshman) is completed.

Just one more month until school starts! Looking forward to seeing most of you again and meeting our newcomers!
