Practice time change on Tuesday, October 4th

There was a scheduling conflict next Tuesday, October 4th. 

The swimmer's practice time has been moved to 7 pm - 8pm. There will be NO bus. Please arrange a ride to and from the pool.  Please be on time to pick up your swimmers at 8 o'clock!

I hope your season is going well so far. I wanted to let you know about an exciting opportunity for your swimmers!

SPEEDO TECH SUIT INFORMATION:

East Valley Sports will be hosting an on deck "Speedo Tech suit fitting" with a "Speedo Tech Suit Specialist", on Saturday 10/1/16 from 8:30 AM -11:30 AM @ Kino Aquatic Complex.  Look for the Speedo and EVS tents on deck.  This is a great opportunity to get fitted and purchase/order a Speedo tech suit to ensure swimmers are not waiting until the last minute. It is also a great opportunity for them to learn about the technology, proper fit, and care from the Speedo rep to ensure swimmers are knowledgeable on the best suit for them.

Attached is the Speedo Tech Suit flyer showing the team discounts of 25-30% off the MSRP for purchases made on deck or in store.  Swimmers may order tech suits online and take advantage of the online coupon code, however due to MAPP pricing, the online pricing is not as great as the discount we can offer on deck or in store.

TYR & MP TECH SUIT INFORMATION:

 
The TYR & MP Tech Suit flyers are attached as well.  Try ons and product is available in store.  However, these brands tech suits will not be at this Speedo fitting event.

The TYR flyer shows discounts of 25 - 30% off the MSRP for purchases made in store, or if product is on deck, along with a closeout discount of 40% on Tracer Lights for in stock merchandise.
The MP Tech Suit flyer does not show the discounts we offer due to MAPP printing pricing policies by MP.   However, I can tell you that for the teams we service, we offer a 30% disc. in store, or if product is on deck.

GENERAL TECH SUIT INFORMATION:

Please be aware that EVS has a $15 tech suit try on fee per session, towards the purchase of a tech suit.  This information is stated on the flyer. 

Female swimmers trying on high end tech suits:  We recommend bringing the person(s), that would be helping get the tech suit on at a meet.

Swim & Dive Update 9/25

Congratulations to all those who competed at the Brophy/Xavier Invitational this weekend! You should be very proud of yourself. Doing back to back invitational weekends is tough but there were many swimmers that swam personal bests or were very close! The boys team placed 10th and the girls team placed 9th overall. We have two more invitationals (toward the end of the season) and four more dual meets to prepare for. Keep up the great work! 

Reminders for this week:

- Tuesday is a half day but a bus will leave school for practice at the normal time of 2:50 pm. 

- Wednesday is our team picture day at the pool. It will start at 3:00 pm. Please wear your team suit! The following link will allow you to order in advance.

Since our team is so large, it may take a little longer to 1) organize our team picture and 2) get through all the individual pictures. So, PLEASE, make sure you are being respectful of the photographers instructions, so that we can get done in a timely fashion. It is more than likely that we will not get that much swimming/diving in, so if you are able to do another short workout afterward, that would be very beneficial to your training! 

- Thursday is an away meet against Brophy & Xavier. The bus will be leaving at 2:30 pm after school. Please meet in our usual spot. Stay tuned on what to wear that day.

Upcoming reminders:

- During our fall break we will have practice on Wednesday, October 12th but there will be NO practice on October 13th and 14th. 

- We only have 113 sunscreen bottles for the Cardboard City event on October 15th. Our goal is 2000!  Please send out emails/messages to friends, family, and neighbors asking if they would be willing to donate sunscreen for this great cause! I have a box in my classroom (C223) to put the donated items.

Swim & Dive Update 9/18

Good morning! 

The Wolves Invitational was a huge success for Pinnacle swim & dive! The coaches are so proud of the effort given by all who participated! The boys placed 11th overall and the girls placed 5th overall. Combined we placed 6th (out of 49 teams!!). There were 15 boys and 7 girls that received D1 provisional state qualifying time (including relays). There were 7 girls that achieved D1 automatic state qualifying times (including relays). I have attached the final results (see email) 

Reminders for the week:

- Wednesday is mandatory practice. We will be passing out the rest of the swim/dive merchandise orders to those that did not receive them last Friday. 

- Thursday 9/22 is an away meet against Desert Mountain at Mcdowell Mountain Ranch.

- Saturday 9/24 is the swimming portion of the Brophy/Xavier Invitational. Below is a list of the swimmers who be competing on Saturday. This invite had some faster qualifying times and only allowed for four entries per event. When I receive the psych sheet and timeline, I will send it out to you so you know what you will be swimming! Similar to yesterday, we will announce who will be on each of the relays on Saturday before warm ups. 

We will meet at school at 6:30 am. Please bring a chair, team suit, racing suit, snacks, sunscreen and plenty of water. The meet will start at 9 am. The meet should be over much sooner that yesterday, most likely around 12 pm. Plenty of time to get ready for homecoming :)

Update 9/11

Good morning!

Events coming up this week:

1) Wednesday, Sept. 14th is the diving portion of the Wolves Invitational meet. Coach Andrew will have more information for the divers this week. Good luck!

2) Thursday, Sept. 15th is our first home dual meet against Boulder Creek. We will ALL meet after school in our usual spot in the E building and everyone will ride the bus over to the pool together. Please change into your suit at school so you will be ready to warm up at 3:00 pm. I know many of you will go home with your parents after the meet but we will have a bus going back to the school once the meet is over.  Please wear your polos to school on Thursday! 

Parents: We still need some help. We can't do this without you and we are SO appreciative of all the support you give! 

- Currently we have 7 timers, that is one for each lane (usually we have 6 lanes but have added on an exhibition lane for this meet). It is extremely helpful to have 2 timers for each lane, meaning we need 7 more! Ask your other children, neighbors, friends to help out and get a front row seat!  No need to reply if you would like to fill one of these positions but please be there by 3:30 pm so we can help you get started :) The meet will not be able to start until we have all of our timers. 

- We also need a head timer/runner. You simply start a watch just in case a timer's watch does not start. You will also pick up the timers sheets after each event, which helps us add up the scores throughout the meet. 

3) AFTER  the meet on Thursday, show your team spirit by heading over to the Chipotle at Desert Ridge for a delicious dinner and fundraiser to support our team! Invite friends, family, neighbors to the meet and Chipotle! Please bring the attached flyer with you or show it on your smart phone. The fundraiser is from 2:30 pm - 9pm. 

4) Saturday, Sept 17th is the swimming portion of the Wolves Invitational. See below for the list of swimmers attending. This is a state qualifying meet and is one of the most competitive meets of the season, so be sure to mentally and physically prepare yourself. The coaches are looking forward to it!  

We will be leaving Pinnacle at 6:30 am sharp! The meet starts at 9 am. We will most likely be back to school between 1 and 2 pm. I will send out a psych sheet once I receive it. Please bring a chair to sit in, a couple towels to last the morning, your team suit to warm up in, a racing suit (if so desired), your team cap, goggles (an extra pair, just in case), plenty of snacks, water, and gatorade. There will be a snack bar and other vendors so you can also bring some cash just in case!

Arizona Ave. Chandler, AZ (The aquatic center is located northwest of the main campus and can be accessed from Erie Street.) There will be an admission fee of $5 at the gate.

Wolves Swim Invitational Roster

9/4 Update

Good evening! 

I would like to start by saying thank you SO much for making Friday night so special for all who were involved! It was great to see the alumni have fun! They can't wait until next year! It was also so exciting to see all of YOU have so much energy, support, and enthusiasm for the alumni AND each other. That is what makes Pinnacle swim & dive so unique! It's the very reason I wanted to come back and coach for this team. We can't wait for our very first meet this week :)

We will meet in our usual spot in the E building. I will be sending out an email to the staff that day informing them of our early dismissal. Please discuss with your teachers what you will be missing and how you can make it up. Thank you! 

What to wear on Thursday: We will be getting our apparel sometime this week and it will be expected that you wear your team polos on Thursday to school and on the bus to the meet. 

We will discuss more on Wednesday at the mandatory practice.
